Credo #83: Pray for those in civil authority

It is not optional.. The collective failure of believers to do this is something like leaving important snippets of code out of a computer program.

    Greetings from an Anglican sister! Yes, indeed, and it is codified in the Prayers of the People, a part of our regular liturgy. I like it. Regardless of political temperament or how we vote, we pray for those in authority over us, from the local to the national level, and we show respect for the office even if we don’t care for the person in that office.

    Conversation during coffee hour, well.. that’s a whole other kettle of fish!
