Credo #78: Know whose problem it is (1.1)

Posted: November 13, 2009 in Credo

You are not biblically obliged; nor are you obliged by God, to “own” every problem.

Edit: This expression is meant to respond to such sentiments as “seeing a need is a call” and “if there is a problem in a relationship, it is always the man’s fault” etc.

and how FREEING this truth is! same goes for a woman … she is not responsible for all her husband’s faults. gosh, i wish i’d known this a LOT earlier in my life! i always felt responsible for the problems of my parents, family, and ex; regardless of what they were, i thought they were all my fault. learning what is mine and what is not, and to only keep and be responsible for what is mine and leave what is not was a HUGE, life-changing lesson for me.
