Relationship tip #4

Posted: January 12, 2010 in Commentary, For brothers, Relationship thoughts

Reading the comment thread on this piece by Anakin (a piece which is worth your time to read) I got inspired by something someone said to come up with this relationship tidbit:

When you go to church with her, take the lead in deciding where to sit to see if she is willing to follow your lead in this.

i think this is good if he takes into consideration anything that would be important to her. for example, does she have a difficult time seeing at a certain distance? i like to be in a place where there is as little distraction as possible b/c i am so easily distracted, and i hate to be distracted at church (add). i also have a difficult time sitting behind someone very tall (distractibility) … and, i get headaches from strong perfume/colonge … so there have been times the people around me were wearing such strong colonge/perfume that i had to move or find a motrin. another consideration … sitting right under the ac vent when she doesn’t have a sweater (or you don’t have a jacket to offer). another possible thing in certain churches would be sitting right by the speakers – that drives me nuts to the point i have to leave (sensory stuff). i know these may sound silly, but if he takes the time to be concerned ahead of time, i think she should gladly follow his lead on where they sit.

🙂 Simple, but clever. I like it.
