Credo #53: On reproving an older man

Posted: May 1, 2010 in Credo, For brothers

From First Timothy*, chapter 5:

Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him as if he were your father. Treat younger men like brothers

Is this really so hard? It seems to be so that the Scripture allows one to make an appeal or a reproof to an older man. It does not say not to do it. It says how to do it.

Edit*: Recall that Timothy was most likely single.
