If you are leaving Egypt, you must stick close to the “pillar of fire*” and “cloud.” I do not say that one can look at circumstance and infer the voice of the Holy Spirit, but contextual clues are part of the walk.
I say that you must not become so comfortable that you stop moving in the direction, however new, that awaits you on your way to what is promised you.
*Both the imagery of the fire and the cloud speak to us of the coming Paraclete, the Holy Spirit.
